Starting today you can mark classes in Punchpass as repeating - the system will create them for your automatically so you don’t have to. Here are the details on how to set it up, as well as gotcha’s to be aware of!
There are a few new options when editing/creating a class. You can choose the days of the week that you teach the class, as well as the time the class starts. If you teach the same class, but at different times, we recommend you create a separate class. You also need to choose a Default Instructor for the class - though you can edit this later on a per-class basis. The screen looks like this:
To turn Auto Create ON click the purple button in the class details page. (Click on Manage Account then click on a class name.) Click the ‘Tell me more…’ link to see the ramifications of turning this on. You must have a default instructor chosen or the button will not be shown.
Turning Auto Create on will…..
1) Immediately have the system create all the instances of that class that fall in the next 30 days.
2) Every morning create any new classes to keep the 30 day window ‘topped off’
If you then click on the Classes button you will see a list of your upcoming classes on the right side.
Then, the class will look like this:
The big warning - turning auto create on, then off, then back on again will create duplicate classes for the next 30 days! So don’t turn it on until the class has been set up correctly.
Need to Edit The Class? No problem! All Edits will only affect any future classes created, so you may have to go and manually change the classes that have already been created.
Finally, in the list of your classes we show a ‘Repeats’ flag for any classes set to Auto Create.
This is really just the first step towards creating more of a traditional calendar of classes you can manage and eventually display on your own website. Please contact us if you have questions. Enjoy!
