Punchpass now lets you create a free trial for your memberships — so you can offer your customers the opportunity to try before they buy. In your membership setup, you decide how many days the trial should last. When your customer initially gets the membership, Punchpass just holds their payment information during the trial period. When the free trial is over, the customer’s credit card is charged for the first time.

When a customer updates their credit card information, the system will retry the last unpaid invoice & will alert you of the result. This saves you from having to remember to check later. Note that Punchpass will only automatically retry the LAST invoice if it is unpaid….it won’t go back to previous invoices from the past.

This is especially useful in a situation where a customer wants to convert to paying via credit card, but after the membership has started. Now the membership can be converted to pay via CC, and then the previous unpaid pass can be invoiced too.

Memberships that have been canceled can now be changed to finish immediately, which will also expire the current active pass. As an example, a customer’s credit card fails, and they refuse to update it. Before it was difficult to ‘stop’ the membership immediately. Now once the membership has been marked ‘Canceled’ there is an option to finish it immediately.

Now you can change a membership’s renewal to a date in the future beyond the current renewal date. This could be a simpler way to ‘pause’ a membership for just a few days, or add more time to a membership as some sort of credit. It gives the clients flexibility. When the renewal date is changed, Punchpass adds a note to the membership. Punchpass does not process any credit or pro-rating.

Membership email receipts now clearly state the status of the membership and when the customer will be charged. Now dates are clearly stated to reflect when a purchased membership is going to start and when the customer will be billed.

The Attendance by Date Range has been improved to run much faster & will no longer timeout on large datasets. The report is fully downloadable as a csv file as well.

We’re excited to introduce a big crop of new features: 👉The membership renewal date can now be changed. 👉If a membership is unpaid, you know it & you’re prompted to act. 👉If a membership that is paid via Stripe is left unpaid, it will not continue to renew. 👉 Your customers can purchase a membership with a future start date. 👉You can assign a customer a membership that started in the past for special situations. 👉 When you pause a membership, it will stop immediately. Then it will start back up right where you paused it so any remaining days can be used before the next payment is due. 👉Future-dated pausing. 👉Membership notes.
